The Neville Public Museum could lose its accreditation if Brown County officials don't find a permanent leader soon."You can't have an accredited museum without somebody running it," Brown County Supervisor Patrick Evans told NB C 26.Brown County officials restarted the search for a museum director this week after pausing to explore a possible merger with the Children's Museum of Green Bay.On Monday, a task force told county leaders not to house the Children's Museum of Green Bay inside the Neville an idea they had explored over the last several months."It was just a terrible fit," Evans said."We ran into a lot of financial issues," added Brown County Supervisor Dan Theno on the reasons for the recommendation.The supervisors are now focused on moving forward.For Evans, that mean hiring a director who will promote the museum and bring more traveling exhibits to it.Theno stated that while the merger plan didn't pan out, he still wants the Neville to draw young guests."We had a couple programs this past year that really did that," Theno noted.Watch the full story by Jessica Goska here: Neville Museum's accreditation at risk amid director vacancyFuture community partnerships aren't off the table, either.
