  MAGIK THEATRE RETURNS TO HEMISFAIR FOR EXPANDED 2026-27 SEASON       Magik Theatre is thrilled to announce its 2026-27 season, to provide audiences with a full year of family fun. From bestsellers like If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Charlotte’s Web to c ritically acclaimed works like the Tony-nominated A Year with Frog and Toad and Seussical the Musical!, to a pioneering collaboration with OPERA San Antonio on Pinocchio, Magik’s upcoming season is full of exciting twists on iconic tales. “We built this season around characters that are adored by children and treasured by grown-ups,” said Collin Pittmann, Magik’s artistic director. “Generations of families, educators and their students, and friends of all ages will bond over these timeless tales — creating the unique community connection that live theatre makes possible.” Pick Six To make the most of Magik’s new, extended season, theatregoers may purchase a subscription to all six shows for $120, just $20 per ticket. Subscribers literally get the best seats in the house with access to priority seating to all shows before single tickets go on sale. Magik is also bringing back its popular flex pass program, a package of 10 prepaid tickets that can be used any time during the 2026-27 season for $220, saving more than 25 percent on regular adult tickets. Corporate flex pass packages of 20 tickets are available for $420. Listed prices are subject to nominal facility and processing fees. As always, Magik offers discounted single ticket rates for children, senior citizens, military/first responders, educators and college students, as well as hosting pay-what-you-wish and educator and military/first responder appreciation days. A Year With Frog and Toad the Musical Book and Lyrics by Willie Reale, music by Robert Reale, based on the books by Arnold Lobel January 30 – March 7, 2027 Recommended for ages 4+ The surprise Broadway hit A Year with Frog and Toad was nominated for three Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Based on Arnold Lobel’s well-loved books, this whimsical show follows two great friends – the cheerful, popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad – through four fun-filled seasons. Waking from hibernation in the Spring, Frog and Toad plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding and celebrate their unique friendship. Created by John Davies and featuring music by Mozart and other famed opera composers, Pinocchio takes audiences on a journey fueled by childlike curiosity as the title puppet navigates the complicated world outside Gepetto’s workshop, led astray by mischievous creatures and winding up under the spell of a notoriously sneaky puppeteer, all while his pesky nose won’t stop growing. White April 24 – May 23, 2027 Recommended for ages 5+ Frequently cited as the most popular children’s book of all-time, Charlotte’s Web returns to the Magik stage with Joseph Robinette’s acclaimed adaptation of E.B. White’s beloved novel. All the enchanting characters are back: adorable Wilbur; his kind, young caretaker Fern; the human and animal families surrounding them; and most of all, the extraordinary spider Charlotte, whose miraculous campaign to save Wilbur proves she is the definition of “a true friend and a good writer.” See this inspiring tale of friendship and compassion come to life onstage in this beautiful, heartwarming play.
