NAMI Southeast Louisiana said proceeds will remain in the region and help fund its support groups, programs and advocacy efforts for people and families affected by mental illness. More than 700 people participated in the organization’s 2025 walk. NAMI Southeast Louisiana said it provided services and support to more than 67,000 people and families across nine parishes last year. “Behind every person facing a mental health challenge is a story, a family, and a community that can make a difference,” Executive Director Nick Richard said. “The Walk is an opportunity to come together, raise awareness, and remind people that they don’t have to navigate their mental health journey alone. After the incredible response to our pet participants last year, we’re excited to welcome them back as part of this year’s celebration.” The event will also bring back NAMIPaws, a pet-focused component that includes games, treats, caricatures, pet merchandise and other activities.
