BATON ROUGE mdash; The Disaster Recovery Center in Pointe Coupee Parish, opened this summer following Tropical Storm Arthur, will permanently close on Thursday.nbsp;Residents innbsp;Avoyelles,nbsp;Lafourche, Pointe Coupee,nbsp;St. Landry, St. Tammanynbsp;and Terrebonne parishes can still apply for FEMA disaster assistance through Oct. 1 to receive help from Tropical Storm Author.nbsp;If residents need one-on-one help, the Terrebonne Parish Library will be available Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm.nbsp;FEMA advises that residents do not need to visit a disaster center for assistance, and the quickest way to apply is online.nbsp;nbsp;Residents can also call the FEMA help line at 800-621-3362 or download the FEMA app.nbsp;Permalink| Comments ...read more read less
