A 19-year-old was found dead in his Staten Island home, and a law enforcement source familiar with the case says his mother’s explanation of what happened didn’t match what investigators found at the scene. The source said the victim had swelling and bruising to his ankles when emergency per sonnel arrived at the Elmwood Park Drive home in New Springville on Tuesday morning. He was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the law enforcement source, the victim, whose name has not been released, also had bruising around his wrists and protruding ribs. There was no immediate word on what may have killed him. The medical examiner’s office is conducting an autopsy to determine how he died. His mother was being interviewed as part of the investigation. No neighbors seemed to know the teen, nor any of the people who lived at the home, by name.
