‘Shameful’: Trump’s Latest Golf Victory Faces Fresh Cheating Claims as ExCaddie Exposes Strange ‘Deal’ Behind His 40 Wins
Aug 18, 2026
President Donald Trump wants the world to think he is a top-level golfer, even if he doesn’t have the skill.
The 80-year-old recently bragged about his “talent” after winning “super senior” and “senior division” Championship trophies.
His career club championship tally at golf
courses is reportedly between 40 and 43 total wins. Even so, skeptics doubt those numbers.

Those victories were won at his own National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
But a former assistant is exposing some of Trump’s supposed underhanded tactics on the golf course.
‘What a Joke’: Trump Couldn’t Stop Bragging About His Golf Win—Then a Hidden Leaderboard Blew the Whole Celebration Apart
In typical Trump fashion, the notoriously egotistical showman took to social media to flaunt his possibly tainted success after a weekend at his golf course.
“The Winning Shot in the Bedminster Club Championship! Thank you very much to all of those who participated,” the POTUS wrote on Aug. 2 on Truth Social.
Trump went on to claim that he won the championship “with a score of 70.” He ended the message by taking a shot at his fellow golf competitors. “It’s called TALENT, and I have it, and they don’t!” he boasted.
His need to peacock led to his alleged history of cheating resurfacing.
Former ‘Sports Illustrated’ writer Rick Reilly is quite familiar with these tactics as the author of the 2019 bestseller titled “Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump.”
Reilly, 68, claims the president has a tendency to break the rules while playing golf. This was somewhat confirmed by one of Trump’s ex-caddies, who provided some behind-the-scenes insight.
The award-winning sportswriter recalled his history of covering Trump, including a 2000 conversation in which the real estate magnate touted winning 12 club championships.
Fast-forward to 2026, and Reilly seems to be really annoyed by the president bragging again on social media about having so-called “talent.”
“Well, actually, what Trump has is caddies waiting out ahead on the course, fluffing up his lies, throwing his balls out of bunkers and picking up eight-foot putts they’ve decided he doesn’t need to make,” Reilly wrote in an Aug. 17 Washington Post op-ed.

“I talked to an ex-caddy of his, who said, ‘Everybody knows the deal. He has to win the tournament and shoot the lowest score,” Riley continued. “It’s your job to make sure.’”
His remarks tie directly to viral clips of Trump supposedly engaged in with the so-called caddies that have been helping him up his game. Several have been seen dropping balls for Trump to easily hit or forcing the ball into the hole as a win.
“What can I say! Once a cheater and a liar, always a cheater and [a] liar! Not just in golf!” one person declared in the Yahoo comments section.
Another called Trump, “A shameful liar. Lies about everything. Has no morals or ethics or conscience.” Another added, “This is total BS!”

“In his corrupt mind and soul, figuring a way to win despite not having the required ability is part of the ‘talent’ that he has, and others do not,” offered a Trump critic.
One commenter clowned Trump’s meritless wins by posting, “So now cheating is part of the deal?” A second sarcastic comment read, “I’m shocked! No one would ever have imagined that he would cheat. Hahahaha!”
While everyday Americans deal with the rising cost of living and other household issues, Trump appears to be fully invested in hitting the links. He has spent over 22 percent of his second term at a golf course.

Just in August, the president has had golf outings at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster every weekend. There have been at least 40 confirmed trips to Trump properties since January 2025.
The backlash over him having too much recreation time or the accusations of constant foul play likely will not stop Trump from enjoying his favorite pastime.
Even the White House embraced the president’s golfing habit. An Instagram post saluted Trump winning the 2025 Bedminster Men’s Senior Championship.
The White House shared a photograph featuring Trump’s scorecard from the event. The image’s triumphant caption read, “Winning on and off the course.”
