Court records show Anna Warner, 43, may face up to one year in jail for attempted theft, when she is sentenced in October.  Warner was the treasurer at Morley Elementary School and initially told Lincoln Police she may have inadvertently used the wrong card, while making purchases. Court documents say $14,829 in PTO funds were believed to be used by Warner for personal use between March 2023 and May 2025, including $8,000 in credit card payments and a $1,300 loan payment.  It also appeared that Warner may have tried to put some of that money back into the PTO account. An arrest affidavit shows that members of the Morley PTO reported what appeared to be an embezzlement from the group’s checking account, while the newly appointed PTO president starting reviewing and preparing a budget for the school year.  They found several credit card payments that were not related to the organization.
