LC Nature Park is located southwest of Fort Wayne, within the Little River Valley, and shares a natural heritage with nearby protected sites such as Eagle Marsh. The park’s restored tallgrass prairies are home to a resident herd of bison and elk, making it the only place in Indiana where both species roam together in a single enclosure spanning more than 80 acres. An ancient sand dune can also be found among its forested areas. LC Nature Park offers diverse programming for children and families to explore and learn about the natural history of the region’s varied landscape. As an independent nonprofit organization, LC Nature Park relies on the generosity of its visitors, members, donors, and community partners to serve more than 7,500 annual visitors and to steward the nearly 450 acres in its care. The park’s vision is to inspire a lasting appreciation for Indiana’s natural history and native environment. More information can be found at lcnaturepark.org. ...read more read less
