Asking Eric: Is it wise to let 80yearold ophthalmologist do surgery on me?

Dear Eric: I am in my late 70s and need cataract surgery. One of my best friends is my ophthalmologist. He is almost 80. He operated on my left eye some 10 years ago and did a great job. Now, I worry that at nearing 80 his hands might not be that steady.
