The East Bay SPCA nonprofit shelter shared that all 16 abandoned puppies found in a Livermore Walmart parking lot back in July have been adopted. On July 8, local advocates who help with rescuing lost and missing animals were alerted to a large group of puppies in a brushy area outside the Liverm ore Walmart parking lot. Unfortunately, one of the puppies there had been hit and killed by a car. Good samaritans corralled the sixteen surviving puppies into their cars and took them to East Bay SPCA, which has a contract with the city of Livermore to take in the city’s lost, injured, or stray animals. The puppies were then given the veterinary care they needed and put up for adoption. While all the puppies did look similar, shelter staff estimate that there could be more than one litter of puppies in this group. “Young animals do tend to get adopted quickly,” said Jes Cytron, the Vice President of Operations for East Bay SPCA.
