A 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle stolen in San Mateo County was returned to its original owner after more than three decades, the California Highway Patrol said on Thursday. CHP said the vehicle was stolen in 1993. After 33 years, CHP said they found “something that warranted a closer look” during a VIN inspection. Authorities said further investigation revealed the classic vehicle in front of them was the same Chevrolet that was reported stolen in 1993.
