Two local Little League teams went head-to-head in the Mid Atlantic Championship game to secure a spot in the Little League Baseball World Series. Wilmington, Delaware’s Naamans Little League and West Chester, Pennsylvania’s East Side League faced off in Bristol, Connecticut, on Friday, Aug. 14, 2026. Pennsylvania won 3-1, moving onto the World Series. This is not the first time the two baseball teams have played against each other during the Championship. Their first match took place just days before, when the Pennsylvania team beat Delaware 8 -1 on Aug. 9. Following the loss, Delaware played in a knock-out round game on Aug. 13 against Washington, D.C.’s Capitol Hill Little League, where they won 7-2. Pennsylvania also played D.C., but on Aug. 11, when they won 10-0. Fans eagerly gathered at West Chester’s Saloon 151 and Wilmington’s Kid Sheelan’s to watch the rematch between their Little League home teams. “Energy was high, vibes were high, the crowd was going crazy. These kids were crazier than the college kids out here, let me tell you, they’re hype,” said Liv Belfer, a Saloon 151 employee. In the end, East Side fans were the most excited by the game’s outcome. “Oh, they’re taking it all the way. They’re taking it all the way; they’re winning the international championship little league world series. Awesome.” said East Side fan, Tim Kalligonis. Pennsylvania will now play in the Little League Baseball World Series, starting Aug. 21, 2026. ...read more read less
