INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) The Securities Commissioner at the Indiana Secretary of State has resigned her position, Indianas I-Team has learned.Marie Castetter stepped down on July 27, according to the State Personnel Department.Castet ter, appointed in 2022, became the first woman in nearly six decades to serve in the role of Indiana Securities Commissioner.The Indiana Securities Commissioner is the head of the Securities Division within the Indiana Secretary of State, which is responsible for regulating the securities industry.The primary mission of the Division is investor protection, according to the state website. The Division protects investors by pursuing administrative, civil injunctive and criminal actions against companies and individuals accused of violating the Indiana Uniform Securities Act (IUSA).Castetter served as chief of deputy in the Hancock County Prosecutors office before serving a judicial vacancy in 2020. She also worked as a deputy prosecuting attorney in the Marion County Prosecutors Office.Chief Deputy Securities Commissioner, Attorney Aaron Rodebeck was appointed Securities Commissioner on July 28, a spokesperson confirmed.Castetter declined to comment to Indiana's I-Team.Beau Bayh (D), Max Engling (R), Greg Ballard(I), and Lauri Shillings (L) are running for Indiana Secretary of State in the November 3, 2026, general election.Incumbent Diego Morales lost to Engling at the Republican convention. ...read more read less
