ANDERSON, Ind. (WRTV) Anderson Mayor Thomas Broderick issued a mandatory emergency evacuation order for several flooded areas within the city.The order was issued at 6:06 p.m. Thursday, declaring a local disaster for Anderson.T he executive order further called for certain residences, properties, streets, pathways and surrounding areas have been affected by hazardous conditions and may present an immediate or substantial risk to occupants, visitors, motorists, pedestrians, emergency responders and others to evacuate immediately to protect life and property.Areas marked for evacuation are located mostly on the north side of town along the White River, including many homes along Alexandria Pike, just east of Anderson University.To see Andersons interactive evacuation area map, click here.The order will be in effect until rescinded, modified, or the underlying emergency conditions no longer require the evacuation.Madison County was under a level 2 travel advisory as of 7:30 a.m. Friday, meaning only essential travel, like going to and from work or driving during an emergency situation, is recommended.Read the full order below. ...read more read less
