PRAIRIEVILLE - A four-vehicle crash on I-10 east Wednesday claimed the lives of two Prairieville residents, according to Louisiana State Police.The crash happened shortly after 6 p.m. at milepost 169 in Ascension Parish.Troopers say a 2022 Ford F-250 was traveling east on I-10 in the left lane when it struck the rear of a 2017 Nissan Altima that was also traveling east in the same lane ahead of it.After that initial impact, the Nissan struck the rear of a Kia Carnival, which then struck the rear of a 2023 GMC Yukon.The driver of the Nissan, 35-year-old Alyssia Stewart and a passenger, 37-year-old Dusharne Stewart, were both properly restrained. They were transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead.The driver of the Kia was also properly restrained and taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries. The drivers of the Ford and GMC were properly restrained and reported no injuries.The reason the Ford struck the Nissan is still under investigation. Routine toxicology samples will be taken and submitted for analysis to determine whether impairment was a factor.Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.Permalink| Comments ...read more read less
