76ers tickets may cost more this season than ever before
Aug 12, 2026
In New York, as the Knicks will face off against the Philadelphia 76ers to tip off the new NBA season, and the team will raise their first banner since 1973, something else is expected to raise to new heights this year — ticket prices.
With LeBron James joining the Sixers and joining the hunt f
or a championship banner of their own, though sales for single games and season tickets have not yet gone live — as the NBA doesn’t plan to announce the full season schedule until Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026 — ticket prices on the secondary market are already higher than ever before for a Sixers game in South Philly.
As advertised on SeatGeek, ticket prices for the Sixers first home game, to be held on Oct. 22, 2026, against the Cleveland Cavaliers, have ballooned with the cheapest option for a single seat costing just shy of $500.
For contrast, last year, the same seats for the Sixers season opener were going for about $100 a pop.
Tickets to the season opener in New York as the Sixers will take on the NBC Champion Knicks are even more costly. The cheapest seats to that Oct. 20, 2026 matchup at Madison Square Garden were sitting at about $2,000 each on Wednesday.

Looking ahead to the season opener, Sixers fan Karon Hill agreed.
“I think it’s going to be a great matchup, honestly,” said Hill. “I think it’ll be a fun game to watch with Jaylen Brown, LeBron, and Maxey.”
