HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind.–After a one-day jury trial, a Hendricks County jury found Kyle Braun guilty of attempted murder and battery by bodily waste. Police said in April 2023, Braun stabbed his mother multiple times inside her home, leaving a knife embedded in her head. His mother ended up sur viving. Braun ran away from the home and was later located by officers near a wooded area by a pool house. During the investigation and treatment that followed, they say Braun also intentionally spit on an EMT. “Kyle Braun tried to murder his own mother. He left her with a knife embedded in her head and walked away. She survived—and today, a Hendricks County jury made sure he did not walk away from justice. Violence this brutal demands accountability,” said Prosecutor Loren Delp. Braun is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 8.
