Press release via Nick Outen with SCDP COBD: COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — The South Carolina Democratic Party Council of Black Democrats held its annual Sunday Dinner Fundraiser at the SC State Fairgrounds, with more than 300 people in attendance. According to Nick Outen with the organization, attende es celebrated Black leadership, grassroots organizing, and Democratic engagement across South Carolina. The event brings together elected officials, Democratic candidates, party leaders, labor partners, faith leaders, community advocates, and supporters from across the state as Democrats continue building momentum heading into the November General Election. The Council welcomed special guest Minyon Moore, Democratic strategist and political advisor. Throughout her career, Moore has advised Democratic presidents, presidential campaigns, and national organizations while helping shape strategies that have strengthened voter engagement and expanded political participation across the country. “This year’s sold-out dinner is a testament to the strength of our Democratic coalition and the continued leadership of Black Democrats across South Carolina,” says Margaret Sumpter, COBD Chair, adding, “As we enter the final months before Election Day, we’re excited to bring together leaders and supporters who are committed to organizing, engaging voters, and building a stronger future for our state.” The Annual Sunday Dinner serves as the Council’s premier fundraising event, with proceeds supporting voter engagement, leadership development, community outreach, and grassroots organizing efforts throughout South Carolina. The event also comes during a historic election cycle for South Carolina Democrats, with Democratic candidates competing for every statewide constitutional office, every congressional district, and all 124 seats in the South Carolina House of Representatives. Through the coordinated campaign, Flip The Future, Democrats say they are expanding volunteer recruitment, voter outreach, and organizing efforts in all 46 counties.
