Former Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri reflects on Hall of Fame weekend CANTON, Ohio (WISH) — Former 14-year Indianapolis Colts kicker and the NFL’s all-time points leader, Adam Vinatieri, will be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday. Ahead of the big day, WISH-TV Sports D irector Anthony Calhoun caught up with Vinatieri to talk about the special weekend. “This whole week has been incredible, but just going to the luncheon and listening to the other guys talk and just tell us stories of what it’s all about is just really, really overwhelming,” Vinatieri said. “Just walking down, getting our picture this morning in front of all the fans is probably the greatest picture I’ve ever been a part of. I’ve had some great, great, teammates and some great teams along the way but this is definitely very, very special.” Colts owner and CEO Carlie Irsay-Gordon will be presenting Vinatieri at the enshrinement ceremony on Saturday. “It was an obvious, clear decision for me,” Vinatieri said. “What the Irsay family has meant to me throughout my career, and I’m just so proud of how she’s taken over the role and what she’s doing. She’s committed 100% and I’m just excited to see how the team continues on with her leadership. It was just an easy decision and I was just happy she said yes.” Vinatieri is the NFL’s all-time leader in field goals made, with 599, and the all-time leader in points with 2,673. He’s also the NFL’s all-time leader in field goals attempted, with 715. He played a whopping 24 seasons in the NFL.
