The Smithereens at the Egyptian Theatre The Smithereens, known for the hits “Blood and Roses,” “Only a Memory” and “A Girl Like You” that hit MTV and college radio in the ’80s and ’90s, will perform those songs as well as deep cuts during the band’s residency that runs through Sunday, at the Egyptian Theatre. The band — guitarist Jim Babjak, drummer Dennis Diken and touring bassist Severo Jornacion will perform with guest lead singer John Cowsill.
