The New Orleans-based firm officially launched Friday and will provide strategic communications services including media relations, social media, event marketing, community relations, crisis communications, design and strategic planning. Lovell said the new firm will serve clients across multiple industries while continuing to collaborate with advertising and marketing agency partners in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. “I’ve had the good fortune to work alongside some of the top pros in the industry on some of the most significant events in New Orleans’ modern history — with a national reach,” Lovell said. “I’m excited to open my own shop, collaborating with clients who are doing important work and making a difference for the community and the region.” Lovell is perhaps best known for his 20-plus years at Peter Mayer Advertising, where he most recently served as vice president, director of public relations and social media before the agency’s sale by the Mayer family. During his career, he worked on communications campaigns surrounding the post-Hurricane Katrina reopening of the Louisiana Superdome, the first major expansion of The National WWII Museum, Antoine’s Restaurant’s 175th anniversary and the announcement naming Branford Marsalis as artistic director of the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music. His client portfolio has included organizations such as Louisiana Tourism, Procter Gamble, Zatarain’s, Hancock Whitney Bank, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, Tulane University and Xavier University, among others. The new firm launches with clients that include Lanier Engineers, YouthForce NOLA, Ellis Marsalis Center for Music, a local financial institution, cultural attractions and businesses in Louisiana’s medical marijuana industry, according to the company. Mark Mayer, former CEO of Peter Mayer Advertising, said Lovell has built a reputation for delivering results across both local and national campaigns. “For more than 20 years, I have enjoyed watching Larry work — and succeed — at the highest level of public relations,” Mayer said. “From focused local initiatives to large national campaigns, Larry’s unique combination of strategic thinking, creativity and execution consistently delivers measurable results for clients.” Lovell’s work has earned multiple industry honors, including two Platinum and 12 Gold HSMAI Adrian Awards for tourism marketing. He has also received 17 first-place awards from the Press Club of New Orleans across categories including public relations campaigns, social media, special events, public affairs and community relations. Beyond his professional work, Lovell serves on the Touro LCMC Health Governing Board, is treasurer of the Press Club of New Orleans and guest lectures at Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business. LLPR is headquartered in New Orleans and operates as a remote communications firm serving clients across the Gulf South and other major U.S. markets, according to a news release. ...read more read less
