INDIANAPOLIS It's fair season, Indianapolis!The 2026 Indiana State Fair is officially open, all the way until Aug. 23, and closed Mondays.The morning kicked off with the Opening Ceremony at the State Fair Train Depot, where off icials unveiled new fairgrounds transit.WRTV was there. Today is also Band Day, when some of Indiana's best high school marching bands compete for top honors. Preliminaries are underway now, with finals tonight at 8 p.m. at the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand.Tonight at the Hoosier Lottery Free stage The Spinners will perform at 6 p.m. followed by the legendary The Four Tops at 7:30 p.m.There's plenty more to explore: nearly 50 new foods, new rides and exhibits, and if you're watching your budget, here's when to go to save money.
