INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) -- One of the biggest parts of the Indiana State Fair is also a fan-favorite: the unique food options.During a media preview of this year's specialties, vendors got to show off their newest creations.Some of the strangest highlights included: Butter-dipped ice cream. Deep-fried Lindor Dubai Chocolate Truffles. Spam hot dogs. Deep-fried Oreos dipped in hot Cheetos. Pork rind nachos.Jeanette Merritt, Communications Director with Indiana Pork, shared their creation; a piece of cornbread with their most popular pulled pork and a hot-honey BBQ sauce.Merritt was also happy to share her favorite thing about being a part of the fair for more than 30 years."I love it," she said "It's family out here. You see the same people year-after-year. You see new faces and all the little kids who are having an absolute blast here at the fair. The work we get to do in the Swine Barn with the exhibitors, the kids that are showing livestock; super fun.
