An investigation was underway early Thursday after, officials said, a shooting happened overnight in Aldan Borough, in Delaware County. According to officials, the investigation began after officers were called to the unit block of South Clifton Avenue in Aldan, at about 3:35 a.m. on Thursday. At that time, officials said, officers discovered an individual who had been shot — though, they did not immediately provide further information on the victim or severity of their injuries. This person was taken to a nearby hospital, though their condition was not immediately known. In a radio call obtained by NBC10, an officer can be heard telling a dispatcher to send an ambulance following the shooting. “Shots fired, start the ambulance, start the ambulance,” a voice can be heard shouting in the recording. However, police did not immediately say if an officer was involved in this shooting. At the scene on Thursday morning, police closed off about two blocks of the roadway near Clifton Avenue and Providence Road as investigators worked in the area. Contacted early Thursday, officials did not immediately provide additional information on how this shooting unfolded or share information about any suspects in this case.
