What is going on?" Franklin County District Court Judge Kathy Mangeot asked during the hearing.When told by a deputy that Stratton had been medically treated, the judge proceeded with the case.Court records show Trivette worked for a company contracted to provide medical services at the jail. She admitted to lying under oath about performing medical evaluations on Stratton and falsifying his medical records.During sentencing, Trivette apologized to the court, saying she knew her actions were wrong. Her attorney said she was afraid to tell the truth because she feared losing her nursing job and health insurance.Stratton's mother, Leslie Bright, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the jail and medical company, claiming they allowed her son to die by failing to provide life-saving medical attention. The lawsuit was settled for an undisclosed amount."How you can watch someone suffer like that and you don't want to send them to the hospital," Bright said after the sentencing. "It's human decency to see someone suffering and you want to help them. I'll never understand, and I'll never forgive her.Stratton's aunt, Karen Woods, criticized the judge's sentencing decision."The judge made so many excuses and gave her so many accolades for other things that she had done," Woods said. "But she's walking away alive and our Dylan is not."Trivette must report to prison Oct. 1.
