One person has died and four others are injured after a five-vehicle crash in Warren County Tuesday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.Troopers said the crash occurred shortly after 6 a.m. just south of SR-73, n
ear Franklin. The highway was shut down at SR-73 for multiple hours.According to the investigation, five vehicles were driving south on I-75 in the left center lane. Two of the vehicles, a Chevrolet Trax and GMC Yukon, stopped, and a person exited the Trax. A Honda Civic then stopped behind them and was struck by a Ford Edge. The Edge traveled off the right side of the roadway and the Civic struck the Trax.The Trax went on to hit the person who had exited it, and struck the Yukon as well. The Civic was hit by a Ford E-150. The Ford then continued moving and struck the Trax and Yukon, according to the investigation.Karen White, the 59-year-old driver of the Civic, died at the scene, troopers said.Troopers said the driver of the Yukon and his passenger were taken to Kettering Health Middletown with serious injuries. The driver of the Trax, who exited the vehicle, was taken to Atrium Medical Center with serious life-threatening injuries and later taken to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment.The driver of the Edge was also taken to Atrium Medical Center with serious injuries, troopers said.The crash remains under investigation. The southbound lanes of I-75 have reopened after being closed for hours following the crash.
