The Oklahoma City Philharmonic will open Armstrong Auditorium‘s 28th Performing Arts Series with America the Beautiful: A 250 Celebration on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in Edmond. Led by Music Director Alexander Mickelthwate, the concert commemorates America’s 250th anniversary with a p rogram featuring George Gershwin’s An American in Paris, John Adams’ The Dharma at Big Sur, and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances. “What a way to open our season—with Oklahoma’s own world-class orchestra celebrating America’s 250th anniversary on our stage,” said Program Director Ryan Malone. “This is a program that should resonate deeply with every Oklahoman.” Tickets start at $60 for adults and $50 for youth ages 6–17.
