FORT MILL, S.C. – Many students are already back in the classroom in the Palmetto State. We were there for the first day of classes on Monday at the new Flint Hill Middle School. That’s part of the Fort Mill School District. The district is welcoming more than 18,000 students this school year . Fort Mill School District Chief Communications Officer Joe Burke says, “Today, the building’s really come alive. The students come in, you’re going through all your classes, going to lunch, going out to recess, or going, out to some of our sporting and everything. So it’s just an exciting time.” Students also returned to the classroom Monday in York and Chester counties. Chesterfield County schools have been back since last week. Kids in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools have a few more weeks to enjoy summer break. They go back to the classroom on August 25th. ...read more read less
