SHELBY COUNTY A motorcyclist was killed early Saturday morning after crashing into a semi-trailer on an overpass over I-74, the Shelby County Sheriff's Department said.The crash happened around 4:25 a.m. on 400 N. at the I-74 o verpass.Preliminary investigation indicates a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling west on 400 N. and ran a red light before striking the trailer of a 2024 Freightliner semi.The semi, driven by 26-year-old Arif Ozer of Primos, Pennsylvania, was exiting I-74 eastbound onto 400 N. and turning east through a green light at the time of the crash.The motorcyclist, a 43-year-old man from Fairland, was pronounced dead at the scene.His name has not yet been released pending notification by the Shelby County Coroner's Office.The Shelby County Sheriff's Department, Shelbyville Fire Department, Shelbyville Police Department, and Fairland Fire Department all responded to the scene.The investigation is ongoing. ...read more read less
