Part of a busy road in north Charlotte will be closed until later this year. Matheson Avenue is shut down between Chick Godley Road and Jordan Place.  Crews will be fixing a bridge along that stretch while also upgrading sidewalks and stormwater drainage. They’ll also install new pavement marki ngs and traffic signals. A detour is in place to direct motorists around the work zone using The Plaza, East 36th Street, North Davidson Street, and Jordan Place to get back onto Matheson Avenue on either side of the bridge.
