WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (WISH) — It did not take long for Max Clark to make an impact in his Major League Baseball debut. The Detroit Tigers center fielder and Franklin, Ind. native recorded two doubles, a single and an RBI in his first career MLB game on Friday night. Clark was called up by the Tigers ahead of Friday’s game against the Athletics. He batted seventh in the order. Clark finished the game 3-of-4 at the plate: Clark walked in his first at-bat in the top of the second Clark singled to left field in the top of the fourth Clark grounded out to second base in the top of the sixth Clark had an RBI double, which scored Zach McKinstry, in the top of the eighth Clark hit another double in the top of the ninth Clark also scored two runs. His memorable night was capped off by his team crushing the Athletics 13-1. News 8 Sports’ Andrew Chernoff recently caught up with Clark while he was playing for the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens during their series back in Indy against the Indianapolis Indians. Chernoff asked Clark what it would mean to get called up to “The Show.” “That’s the childhood dream,” Clark said. “I’ve been thinking about it since I was probably 10, 12-years-old.
