(WISH) — Governor Mike Braun (R) announced Friday that that the Indiana Department of Homeland Security will be establishing an Office of Cybersecurity. According to a release from IDHS, this office will be established in an attempt to preemptively protect against cyberattacks. “We are n ot going to sit around hoping a cyberattack doesn’t happen,” said Gov. Braun in the release. The establishment of the Office of Cybersecurity follows the closure of the Indiana Executive Council on Cybersecurity. The release said that this new office is “a new phase” for Indiana’s protections against cyberattacks.
