The second phase of the Bridgeport Viaduct rehabilitation project kicks off on Aug. 1, and SEPTA will run shuttle buses to accommodate disruptions to rail service. SEPTA launched the Bridgeport Viaduct rehabilitation project in March 2026. The project includes improvements to the 115-year-old , 3,525-foot-long-bridge that carries the M Norristown Speed Line over the Schuylkill River.   Beginning Aug. 1, and through Dec. 19, SEPTA will run shuttle buses on the M between Norristown Transit Center and Bridgeport Station.  From Aug. 22 to 30, shuttle bus service will be extended to Gulph Mills Station before returning to Bridgeport Station for the remainder of the project. Construction will also briefly impact the Manayunk/Norristown Regional Rail Line.   From Aug. 15 to 23, shuttle buses will run between Norristown-Elm Street and Norristown Transit Center.   Wilmington/Newark Line  From Aug. 8 to 9, SEPTA will run shuttle buses along the Wilmington/Newark Line due to Amtrak work.   In partnership with DelDOT, bus connections will be offered between Claymont Transit Center and Wilmington Station.   Shuttle buses will depart Wilmington Station 17 minutes earlier than regularly scheduled train times.   Trains will depart 5 minutes after shuttles arrive at Claymont Transit Center. The DelDOT buses will leave 5 minutes after trains arrive at Claymont Transit Center.   SEPTA advises riders to allow approximately 20 extra minutes for trips inbound to Center City and 20 to 25 extra minutes for trips outbound to Wilmington. West Trenton Line  Construction on West Trenton Bridge will cause interruptions in travel on the West Trenton Line.   From Aug. 1 to 14, shuttle buses will run between West Trenton and Yardley stations.   Buses are scheduled to leave 14-20 minutes earlier than regularly scheduled times, and SEPTA warns that they could add up to 30 minutes in travel time.   ...read more read less
