Two more lawsuits have been filed against the company that operated the medical jet that crashed in Northeast Philadelphia in 2025 killing all six passengers on board, two others on the ground and injuring more than 20 people. In one lawsuit, a man identified as Khlood Hammad, says that he was in the drive-thru lane at the Dunkin’ located on Roosevelt Boulevard that was across from where the plane crashed. Hammad is suing Mexico-based Jet Rescue Air Ambulance because she said that she saw “gruesome remains of individuals who were killed in the crash.” She also says that she was subjected to blast forces and shockwaves because of the crash. In her lawsuit she claims to have physical injuries as well as trauma to her ears, dizziness and emotional distress. A second lawsuit filed by Yunelly Cervera explains that debris from the crash landed on her property right in front of her as she was standing outside of her house that night. These lawsuits come eight months after the estates of Lizeth Murillo Ozuna and Dr. Raul Meza Arredondo sued Med Jets accusing them of carelessness, negligence and recklessness as well as wrongful death. All three of these lawsuits claim the company failed to operate the aircraft in a safe manner. NBC10 has reached out to Med Jets for comment and we are waiting to hear back. Officials said the plane had taken off from the Northeast Philadelphia Airport at 6:06 p.m. and was in the air for just 22 seconds before it crashed into the sidewalk on Cottman Avenue. Everyone aboard the flight was killed along with two people on the ground. At least 24 others were hurt. Nearly five blocks of Northeast Philadelphia became unrecognizable as debris fell from the explosion and a massive fire that followed which engulfed homes, cars and businesses. ...read more read less
