SHELBY, N.C.  – Shelby officials have dropped their lawsuit to block the release of 911 calls and police radio traffic involving a former officer charged with assault. City attorney Jason Lunsford withdrew the court complaint Wednesday, agreeing to release the audio regarding former Officer Ka rson Hyder. Hyder was fired from the department and charged in May after video showed him punching a woman several times.
