For its 54th edition, PulpFest salutes the centennial of the first science fiction magazine, “Amazing Stories,” which continues to captivate readers as an online publication. Celebrating pop culture curios, the homegrown event takes its name from magazines and periodicals that had interior pages made from wood pulp. Filled with prose fiction representing all sorts of genres — from mystery to adventure to science fiction and more — pulps cost between a dime and a quarter when they were sold at newsstands, drugstores, bus stops and train stations during the early 20th century. ...read more read less
