The third person found dead after a boat capsized July 14 in the San Francisco Bay has been identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office. Carol Boisa, 74, of Sacramento County, was identified by the San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office after being found west of the Golden Gate Bridge this w eekend. On Saturday at approximately 10 a.m., San Francisco police officers said a person was found dead near Point Diablo on the Marin County side of the Golden Gate channel. Out of the 20 passengers attending a memorial service aboard the 49-foot cabin cruiser, three people and one dog have been pronounced dead. One more person remains missing. The San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office identified Clifford Boisa, 79, of Sutter County, as the first victim confirmed dead. Clifford was initially rescued from the water when the boat capsized but later was pronounced dead after succumbing to his injuries. On July 16, just two days after the vessel sank, an SFPD marine unit recovered another body in the water west of Treasure Island. The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the individual as Tondra Miller, a 58-year-old woman from Sacramento County. Authorities believe that many of the people who perished in the sinking may have initially been trapped inside the vessel’s enclosed main or lower deck, said U.S. Coast Guard Capt. Jarod Toczko. At survivor debriefings shortly after the rescue, passengers told the Coast Guard that people were in the enclosed decks when the boat was sailing. On July 17, the sunken vessel was located by the SFPD marine unit using boat-mounted sonar technology. Police are currently continuing to assess the wreckage and feasibility of possibly recovering or lifting the vessel to the surface.
