The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning at 11:46 a.m. on Tuesday in effect until 2:45 p.m. for Tompkins County."At 11:46 a.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate i s 1 inch in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly as another area of heavy rain moves in from the south," says the weather service.
