Man arrested in connection to deadly 2024 shooting in North Philly, police say

A man was arrested after being wanted for a deadly shooting that happened in North Philadelphia back in October of 2024, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

When officers got to the scene, they found the victim – identified as Jameel Devin – who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso, police explained. Officers took him to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators reported uncovering that Tyreek Dekeyser was the suspected gunman in this shooting and was considered a fugitive.
Then, while responding to a report of a person with a gun, officers with the Philadelphia Police Department said they found Dekeyser in the 3800 block of North 8th Street on Monday, July 27 around 12:25 p.m.
Dekeyser ran away from the officers but was ultimately taken into custody, police said. A firearm was found on him.
He has been charged with murder and other related offenses.
The investigation into this case is ongoing.
