A man was taken to the hospital after police said he was shot while sleeping inside a home in Dover, Delaware. According to the Dover Police Department, on Monday, July 27, 2026, just after 2 a.m., officers responded to River Chase Drive following a report of a shooting. Police said an inves tigation revealed that multiple rounds were fired through a residence window, striking a 62-year-old man one time while he was asleep. The man was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to police. Three other people were inside the home at the time of the shooting, but no one else was injured, police said. The investigation remains active, and detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
