CNN also noted that Iran si gnaled it would suspend its own operations as long as Washington maintained the pause. A senior Iranian official described Tehran’s position as attack for attack, making clear that the arrangement is not a formal ceasefire and could collapse if either side resumes military action. The fighting has centered partly on the Strait of Hormuz, a major route for global oil and gas shipments. Disruption in the waterway has affected commercial traffic and added pressure to energy markets. Regional mediators are continuing efforts to bring both governments back to talks.
