Firefighters were battling a vegetation fire in Fremont Saturday afternoon, according to authorities. Authorities said the fire was initially burning approximately 2 acres in the 41400 block of Vargas Road in Fremont, but the fire later grew to reach 20 acres. Officials said the fire was burning in light flashy fuels at moderate rate of spread with no structures threatened.
