Road Work sign in downtown Lincoln. (Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR July 25)–Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) this week announced that portions of two streets will close beginning the week of July 27. The closures are as follows: Northbound 27th Street between Nebraska Parkway and Woods Boulevard will close beginning Monday, July 27, for a paving project. This closure is expected to end mid-August. Local access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained. The eastbound left turn lane on Superior Street to Cornhusker Highway will close beginning Wednesday, July 29, for pavement repairs. This work is expected to be completed by August 7. The recommended detour is Superior Street to Havelock Avenue to 70th Street to Cornhusker Highway. Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and exercise caution around these closures. LTU appreciates the public’s patience during these closures and reminds community members that project start and end dates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances. Current information on street closures is available at lincoln.ne.gov/closures or through the Waze mobile app. ...read more read less
