FORT MILL, S.C. – Leaders with the Fort Mill School District are calling for limits on what Silfab can do at its solar panel manufacturing plant in York County. In a letter to elected officials, district leaders ask that the facility’s operations be permanently limited to non-hazardous assemb ly processes. It also asks that Silfab be required to remove all hazardous chemicals on site. It comes after a judge ruled this week that manufacturing solar panels is not included in light industrial zoning.
