CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The 25th edition of 24 Hours of Booty is underway in Myers Park. Hundreds of cyclists are making their way around the Booty Loop to raise money for cancer patients. It all got underway around seven Friday night at the intersection of Wellesley and Queens Road West. Participant s say they don’t mind being out in the dreary weather for a good cause. Participant Fran Cook-Mahood says, “Not only have I had family members who have suffered and also died with cancer. I have friends who are struggling with cancer today and I’m happy to be out here even in this weather to support them.” Last year’s 24 Hours of Booty raised just shy of $1.7 million for cancer survivorship and patient navigation programs.
