A 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with murder, police said Friday, following an investigation into the July 7, 2026 slaying of a DoorDash driver in Philly’s Kingsessing community. Officials said Friday that Zakah Johnson, 15, was re-arrested while still in custody on an unrelated charge at the time of his scheduled release and has been charged with murder in the death of MD Mahfuzul Haque. Johnson was determined to be a suspect in the slaying, that happened along the 1000 block of South Ithan Street, after an “extensive investigation,” according to police. Haque was shot in the back of the head as he was working as a DoorDash driver, police said. Johnson, officials said, has been charged as an adult.
