Hunt Valley-headquartered spices and foods manufacturer McCormick Company has announced a new executive team and operating model as part of its $65-billion merger with Unilever Foods. The deal, which was announced in March, is expected to close in early 2027. McCormick manufacturers many of the spices, seasonings, and condiments beloved by consumers in Maryland and beyond, including Old Bay seasoning, Franks RedHot sauce, French’s mustard, and other products. When the companies combine, Brendan Foley will remain chairman, president and chief executive officer of McCormick. Marcos Gabriel will remain executive vice president and chief financial officer of McCormick. McCormick will reorganize into four commercial divisions: Americas Consumer, International Consumer, Global Food Service, and Global Flavor. Executive vice presidents will serve as presidents of each division. They include Andrew Foust (Americas Consumer), Heiko Schipper (International Consumer), Nuria Hernandez (Global Food Service), and Suzanne Roy (Global Flavor). McCormick also announced other leaders: Tabata Gomez, EVP Chief Growth Global Marketing Officer; Jennifer Han, EVP, Chief Supply Chain Officer; Guy Peri, EVP, Chief Information Digital Officer; Sarah Piper, EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer; Jeff Schwartz, EVP, Chief Legal Officer; and Heike Steiling, EVP, Chief RD Officer. “Our planned operating model is designed to place consumers and customers at the center of the combined business, enabling disciplined execution, enhanced innovation, and sustainable long-term growth, while supporting a rewarding employee experience,” Foley said in a statement. “Our anticipated Executive Team will bring together proven leaders from both McCormick and Unilever Foods, from a diverse set of backgrounds and skill sets, and with deep knowledge of our brands, categories, customers, and geographies, positioning us well to capitalize on our expanded global platform, realize expected synergies, and create value for all stakeholders.” McCormick plans to seek a secondary listing on the London Stock Exchange to complement its existing listing on the New York Stock Exchange, Foley announced. “This, in combination with our International Headquarters and commitment to Unilever’s world-leading RD facilities in the Netherlands and our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland, reinforces the global nature of the combined operations and positions us for ongoing success,” he said. The combined company will have an international headquarters and maintain “substantial presence” in the Netherlands, where Unilever’s research and development facilities are located. McCormick will maintain its global headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland. “I am proud of the diligent execution and collaboration by our integration planning teams to lay the foundation for the combined company,” said Andrew Foust, McCormick’s Chief Integration Officer, in a statement. “The strong cultural alignment between our businesses reinforces our conviction in the strategic merits of this combination, and I am confident we have the right structure and leadership to execute on a successful integration upon closing.” ...read more read less
