Jul 24, 2026
The city of Garland wants to remind residents not to trash or recycle batteries. Discarded batteries are a leading cause of fires in waste facilities and collection trucks.

Resident can bring batteries to the Dallas County Home Chemical Collection Center (11234 Plano Rd.) for safe, proper disposal.
The city said liquids like paints, fertilizers, chemical, mercury, automotive fluids, etc. are not allowed in trash and recycling carts either.
