6 PM WEATHER 7-23-26
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Warmer and more humid air will return soon along with the chance of more rain storms.
THURSDAY NIGHT:
Stars clouds. Comfortable lows in ranging from the mid 50s to lower 60s.
FRIDAY:
Partly to mostly cloudy skies. Highs loo
k to remain in the 70s for most of Central Indiana. A few stray showers are possible with the highest odds across SW Indiana. Locations north of Indy may end up with brighter skies overall.
FRIDAY NIGHT:
Variably cloudy. Lows from the upper 50s northeast of Indy to the 60s from the city to the southwest.
SATURDAY:
A mix of sun cloud with warmer temperatures in the 80s. A stray shower or storm is possible but most of us will remain dry. Overall, things look good for the Pennzoil 250 at IMS and the Indy Eleven match in the evening.
SUNDAY:
Variably cloudy, warm, more humid. Highs may push back into the low 90s. While there may be a few spotty showers storms around, most of Central Indiana should remain dry. Few issues are expected for the Brickyard 400 at IMS at the current time.
MONDAY:
There are some signs a storm complex could rumble in from the northwest either Sunday night or Monday. The Storm Prediction Center already has parts of Indiana in an outlook for such an event.
Summer storm complexes have the potential to produce damaging wind gusts, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. It’ll be something to watch over the next week as the upper pattern could support additional stormy weather.
Early next week will also be plenty humid and the heat index could approach 100° at times.
