Police in Vallejo are investigating the city’s seventh homicide this year after a woman was found beaten to death, the department said Wednesday. On Monday just before 2:30 p.m., officers were informed of a possible deceased person near Georgia and Steffan streets. Officers arrived and found an unresponsive woman near the landscaped interchange infield between the Interstate Highway 80 eastbound ramp and Steffan Street. Medical first responders declared the woman deceased. Detectives and the coroner’s office at the scene saw injuries on the woman and she was taken for a further examination by a medical examiner, police said. On Wednesday, the medical examiner determined she sustained blunt force trauma that led to her death. The woman’s identity is being withheld pending confirmation.
